INTERNATIONAL

Therapy Network supports students across the globe

We have disseminated our skill in parts of Mumbai, Kerla and Goa, India. The sharing of our skill base has provided much-needed support to children with speech and language difficulties and helping to equip families and healthcare workers with the skills to support children with SLCN. It turns out that positivity has always been a good way to get by in life and I think it shows in our clients and our work too.

BRAIN BAGS

Inclusion & Diversity Networks

Through our projects we have developed and built up our inclusion networks, which serve as forums to offer support, understanding, information, and connectivity to young people through the communities. These networks provide individuals with the opportunity to share experiences, problem-solve, innovate, develop and showcase their own unique skills.

We can support these inclusion networks through purchasing one of our diversity tote ‘Brain Bags’ Proceeds go towards resources, training, education and social events.

EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE

Research & Development

Evidence based practice is at the core of clinical practice, supporting students to the highest standards. Independent Speech language therapists have been involved with different projects and studies at University College London funded by the Wellcome Trust.

These speech therapy projects have looked at the neurological basis of language functions. Using Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) and Statistical Parametric Mapping software, speech therapists and neuroscientists have been able to build and analyse brain imaging data pictures to see which part of the brain people use to speak, read and write with.

Speech therapists have also been advisors to BBC and youth television programmes.
