Shakespeare School's Foundation’s active and inclusive approach engages over a thousand pupils with Special Educational Needs each year, proving that Shakespeare is for everyone.
At the heart of what they do is the Festival. Each Autumn nearly 30,000 young people from primary, secondary and special schools across the country unite in the world’s largest youth drama festival.
As well as the annual festival we can visit you in your school for a workshop. Workshops are an opportunity for students to explore emotions, relationships, motives and consequences. They are also a unique opportunity to play with language, helping students to find greater articulacy and boosting communication skills.
The workshops for SEN learners (including Speech, Language and Communication needs) are always bespoke, built in accordance with individual requirements and areas of interest. Often this takes the form of an introduction to a play and its characters, or an exploration of a particular theme.
